iDEA have been working with King's College to develop estates masterplanning strategies but also creating cutting edge digital tools that inform decision making and bring the big picture to life. Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital is part of this portfolio and we have had the opportunity to go from the macro to the micro and design a new student hub facility on the ground floor of St Thomas House.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital is part of this portfolio and we have had the opportunity to go from the macro to the micro and design a new student hub facility on the ground floor of St Thomas House.
The new Hub provides much needed respite from the pressures of healthcare education and is set in a double height ground floor space with great proportions and a beautiful architectural envelope. The space combines a cafe, informal social space, Capsule Library and areas to work collaboratively and individually.
The scheme lifts a previously underwhelming and under utilised space in a key location and will be instrumental in bringing the student population together, providing a place of calm worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital.
