The is the largest building project the University has ever undertaken, the Centre will become home to the Department of Experimental Psychology along with a new Department of Biology that combines the existing departments of Plant Sciences and Zoology. It will transform the way psychological and biological science is undertaken in Oxford, and help scientists who are working to solve some of our major global challenges.

The project team developed academic space standards, an agreed space budget, and drafted spatial arrangements to describe new forms of collaborative workplace and learning spaces. To demonstrate them, we developed an interactive space budget model for the Centre, based on baseline area data and future growth projections, This was demonstrated in a real-time 3D campus model. Further development included optimising the timetabling of teaching spaces and visualising existing equipment schedules, using the campus model.
