A Faculty with a lot of voices can quickly end up as discord; we provided a clear, unified voice for the collective, reviewing their existing use of space and recommending future spatial requirements based on careful observation and considered conversation.
While comparisons with other Universities provided useful benchmarks, we worked closely with the Faculty, listening to their individual requirements before developing the outline brief for their new build, and forming a strategy to consolidate the rest of their estate.
Process
Met with key stakeholders to build up a picture of key themes and understand relationships.
Analysed and benchmarked the utilisation of teaching spaces based on timetabling data.
Overlayed demand scenarios against available existing and future supply to understand pinch points.
Modelled the impact of construction interventions on the University's carbon budget.
