respectfully renew?

Our journey with 22-26 Whitehall

began three years ago when we were

tasked with transforming two very

different buildings: a 1970’s office

block, Kirkland, and a 17th-century

naval headquarters, Ripley - both

located in Whitehall, London.

The challenge was: balancing modern needs with preserving heritage. From the start, I was involved in every step of the project, managing the design team, ensuring we met deadlines, and navigating complex heritage regulations. 

We produced over a thousand drawings and revisions to meet the client’s vision while keeping the buildings’ historical integrity intact.

Despite the challenges, the project has been incredibly rewarding. The Kirkland building, the 1970s structure, is now fully occupied and looking fantastic, while Ripley’s nearly done too. Every detail, from accessible features to finishing touches, was carefully considered to create a modern yet respectful space.

This project has been a huge learning experience, from managing complex logistics to working with heritage consultants. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, and I know this project will be a benchmark for future work.
